Labour and Rail Policy

So last week I wrote this piece http://www.progressonline.org.uk/2014/07/09/make-rail-regional/ on how I thought Labour should tackle the issues around rail policy that would answer the criticisms and wishes of the various interested parties, while at the same time getting to the nub of what really needs to be done.

Well, having now read the motion put forward for the National Policy Forum I must confess that I feel a very real and positive hope that the Party have a pretty similar view – which *obviously* i think is extremely sensible.

Here is a piece just up on LabourList http://labourlist.org/2014/07/where-labour-now-stands-on-rail-and-what-the-npf-must-decide/ with more info and the text of the motion.  Let’s hope everyone can move past grandstanding on focus on real, pratical solutions that will deliver a better railway for everyone.
