I just read an interesting article from the Londonist
http://londonist.com/2012/08/building-the-high-line-in-london.php
And it got me thinking – the New York High Line is very cool. There is also one in Paris not far from Bastille. But then I remembered the disused railway viaduct in the Digbeth/Bordesley area of Birmingham – could we use that and have a similar park here in Birmingham??
From the day job, I know about this viaduct, I am pretty sure we cannot make good use of it again for a Metro extension and it won’t be taking heavy rail ever that’s for sure! A quick google search however showed that this idea has already been taken on – see:
Has any progress been made?? Because this is an amazing opportunity to do something really special in Brum… Does anyone know anything about this – has the project been dropped, are there people still involved? does anyone know anything???
I would love to help make this happen – please get in touch if you have any info or ideas…
